Much Ado About Nothing - The Return
David Tennant was well enough to return to the Wyndham's Theatre stage for tonight's performance of Much Ado About Nothing. As previously reported, David had been battling a sore throat and had lost his voice, forcing him to pull out of the shows on Monday and Tuesday as well as a number of planned appearances and interviews.
There were cheers and applause when David made his entrance tonight. People at the show said that he, along with all of the other cast, gave as brilliant a show as ever, although David was perhaps a little more restrained in some parts than usual. However, unless you had seen the play before you would not be able to tell. The reported huge smile during the curtain calls left no doubt that David was delighted to be back.
There was no stage door signing this evening.
